Honey

Honey has been used as a skin ointment for over 2000 years due to its antiseptic nature. It’s also a natural humectant (it attracts and retains moisture), and therefore helps to condition the skin. Honey also carries the medicinal properties of the plants and herbs onto the skin where bees have collected their nectar. 

It is a versatile and all-natural ingredient to use on skin. It’s full of antioxidants, antibacterial, and can clarify the skin by opening up and unclogging pores. It’s also a great moisturiser that soothes irritation and blemishes, and it leaves a lovely afterglow. 

Calendula

Commonly known as marigolds, the Calendula officionalis flowers are instantly recognisable for their bright orange/yellow flowers. Calendula infused oil is used, as it is renowned for its many beneficial properties.

Beeswax

It is a naturally protective layer for the skin, helping to lock in moisture for soft, supple and hydrated skin.  

Beeswax has a light honey fragrance and is anti-allergenic meaning that it can be used for dry or sensitive skin to reduce itching. 

It does not suffocate the skin and won’t clog pores.

Jojoba

Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-ba) oil is produced from the seeds of the jojoba shrub which is native to the Sonoran Desert which straddles North-western Mexico and the South-western United States.  

It is an intensely nourishing oil that can improve the condition of the skin. It works by forming an oily layer on the top of the skin that traps moisture in - preventing it from drying out without clogging pores. 

It is also a natural tool that removes dirt and makeup from your face.

Lavender

For thousands of years Lavender has been used for its calming and healing properties. It also has antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-depressant and regenerative abilities.
